Youth Director


To direct and lead youth programming for Middle School and High School age youth. The Youth Director shall seek to foster Christian community through building relationships with young people that strengthen their commitment to the church and growth in faith in Jesus Christ. The Youth Ministry Coordinator will work hand in hand with the Senior Pastor and Education Committee to help determine vision and overall direction for Youth Ministry.


The Director shall plan and implement age appropriate activities for Middle and High School age youth that promote community through faith development, fellowship and fun. Activities that are essential to the ministry are: study of scripture, participation in praise and worship, prayer, and Christian service. Additional activities that promote community and excitement should also be an important part of the ministry (Trips, Lock-ins, Putt-Putt, etc). They will oversee the recruitment and training of adult volunteers to work with Middle and High School age groups, work with the Finance Committee in preparation of an annual budget for the youth ministry, coordinate fund-raising activities that support special youth activities and trips, and promote Christian service through age appropriate service projects.


This is a part time/salary/based on 20 hours per week.


Education/Skills:

                            High School Diploma

                            Prefer college degree in an area related to youth

                            Experience in leading youth preferred

Children's Director


The Children’s Director shall be responsible for planning, enabling, and implementing a comprehensive program of Christian Education which includes Sunday School, Kids Programming (ages 5 years to 5 grade), and other opportunities for spiritual enrichment and fellowship for children of Trinity United Methodist Church.


The Director will work in conjunction with the Committee on Education to plan and implement educational programs for children and assist Sunday School teachers in the selection and use of appropriate curriculum materials. They will work with and nurture children’s teachers and volunteers for Sunday School and Wednesday night curriculum, as well as organize family activities, such as Fall Fest, Easter egg hunt, Vacation Bible School, and community outreach. Work with children’s leaders and volunteers in activities and programs beyond the local church, i.e. Asbury Hills Summer Camp and Rise Against Hunger.


The Director will attend workshops and seminars and take responsibility for an ongoing training program for teachers and workers. They will work with the appropriate church leaders to set long range goals and objectives for curriculum, use of educational space, activities and programs and assist with the formation of new educational groups where needed.

 

This is a part time/salary/based on 20- 25 hours per week.

Director of Traditional Music


The Director of Traditional Music will develop and lead the traditional worship music ministry in conjunction with the senior pastor, implementing TUMC’s vision, mission and strategy in the worship area: crafting the themes for each service, training and nurturing team members while working with various groups within the church to use music for worship: ensuring each traditional worship service is led in such a way the congregation has an opportunity for an authentic encounter with God’s presence.


The Director of Traditional Music is accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. A flexible work schedule is necessary depending on the needs of the church. In consultation with the Pastor and other musicians, the Director of Traditional Music is to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive music ministry. She/he will provide direction and leadership for all choirs (vocal) and other ensembles (handbells and orchestra). The Director of Traditional Music will attend all staff meetings, Administrative Council meetings, and the Charge Conference. A committee consisting of the Senior Pastor, along with a representative from the Staff Parish Relations Committee will review job performance after a 90-day probationary period. Thereafter a member of the SPRC will conduct an annual review which will be shared with the employee.


This is a part time/salary/based on 25-30 hours per week.


Education/Skills: High School diploma

       Prefer college degree in an area of music.

                           Experience in leading a team, worship service preferred.

                           Demonstrate competency reading music and would prefer someone who is able to play piano/organ, other instruments.

                           Be actively seeking to grow in faith and be prepared to help lead others in growing in their faith.
